West Hartford Preparing for Potential State Budget Cuts

Governor Rell’s most recent deficit mitigation plan calls for millions in cuts in municipal aid. We spoke with officials to learn how the town is preparing.

New Road Signs Direct Holiday Shoppers to Businesses

Mayor Slifka, the Chamber of Commerce, and members of the business community unveiled West Hartford’s “Way-Finding” Signage on December 1st.

The signs will be placed at 13 key intersections, directing traffic to West Hartford’s six business districts. All will be installed this month, just in time for holiday shoppers.

The West Hartford legislative delegation will be working at the state capitol until the constitutionally mandated session deadline tonight at midnight.
