West Hartford Town Council Minority Leader to Seek Legislative Seat

Republican Denise Berard Hall is seeking the Connecticut House of Representatives seat being vacated by Rep. Beth Bye. Hall is the Minority Leader of the West Hartford Town Council, first elected this past November.

Democrats are holding a primary August 10th to determine who will be on the ballot against Hall on the November ballot. We will have a preview of that race soon.

The newly elected West Hartford Town Council began their work on Monday, November 23rd. Democrats and Republicans pledged to work together in what will be a very difficult budget year.

A Big Night for West Hartford Democrats

West Hartford Democrats had a big night Tuesday, winning the maximum number of Town Council and Board of Education seats allowed by law. Democrats now control six of nine Town Council seats, and five of seven seats on the Board of Education.

Town Council Candidates Prepare for Election Day

We profiled Town Council Candidates Judy Casperson and Denise Berard Hall earlier this summer just before campaign season began.

Both are first time candidates and both work in the banking industry. LocalOnlineNews.TV’s Michael Lurie caught up with Casperson (a Democrat) and Hall (a Republican) to talk about their campaign experience.

Election Day is now only a few days away on November 3rd.

The West Hartford Democrats and Republicans will nominate their candidates for the November 3rd election in the next two weeks. Continuing our election coverage, LocalOnlineNews.TV will be profiling two candidates for Town Council – one from each party. As the campaign progresses we will look at how each party plans to address specific issues facing West Hartford.

Our first profile is with Republican Denise Hall who is expected to be nominated at the West Hartford Republican nominating caucus on July 28th. Hall is a community volunteer and a Senior Vice President at Webster Bank in Hartford.

We will profile a Democratic candidate later this week.
