U.S. Service Academy Information Session September 26th

Connecticut High School students who are interested in attending one of the United States service academies are invited to attend the Connecticut U.S. Service Academy Day informational session on Saturday, September 26th from 9:00AM-12:00PM at Middlesex Community College in Middletown.

At the session, prospective candidates will meet with representatives from the U.S. Service Academies, members from Congressman John Larson’s staff as well as staff from the state’s U.S. Senate and other Congressional Offices.

To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, an applicant must have a nomination from an authorized nominating source, which includes Members of Congress. To be nominated by a Member of Congress, applicants must reside in the Congressional District of the nominating Congressperson.

Congressman John Larson to Host West Hartford Healthcare Forum

Congressman John Larson will host a public forum on healthcare reform at the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, September 2nd, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Congressman Larson will be joined by Judith Stein, Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Medicare Advocacy, Brenda Kelly, Connecticut Director of the AARP, and Kevin Galvin, small business owner and chairman of Small Businesses for Health Care Reform.
