West Hartford Summer Arts Festival Going Strong After 34 Years

After 34 years the West Hartford Summer Arts Festival is still going strong with the recent performance of “Gypsy” at Hall High School. The SAF gives West Hartford high school and college students the opportunity to perform in popular plays and musicals.

West Hartford Summer Arts Festival to Perform the Classic Musical Singin’ in the Rain

The West Hartford Summer Arts Festival opens its 2009 season with Singin’ in the Rain. Performances are July 29-Aug. 1 at 7:30 pm and will be held at William H. Hall High School, 975 North Main Street, West Hartford.

A collaborative effort between the West Hartford Department of Fine and Performing Arts and the Department of Leisure Services, this 33rd season of West Hartford Summer Arts Festival promises to be another showcase of talented young adults from the greater Hartford area, along with a professional team of designers and directors.

Produced by Haig Shahverdian and directed by Sean Harris, the show features Hall High School alumni Greg Dassonville as Don Lockwood, Hillary Ekwall as Kathy Seldon, Joseph Fierberg as Cosmo Brown, and Michelle Goodman as Lina Lamont.

Tickets are $12 until July 26th and can be reserved with a Visa or Mastercard by calling the Elmwood Community Center at (860) 561-8160. For those that would like to pay with cash or check, please go to the Elwood Community Center at 1106 New Britain Ave in West Hartford. Make checks payable to “Town of West Hartford.”
